Tunbridge Wells MOT Centre was opened by Clive Milton, in 1981 and today it is run by himself and his son David Milton, who grew up there helping on cars, and when he left school he started his apprenticeship at the garage.
Clive always had a natural ability to mend cars. When he was in the Army, he used to always have people asking him to fix their cars, which he did. When he left the army he very quickly got a job as a mechanic before opening his own garage in Tunbridge Wells, which is where he remains today.
This is a family run garage with 5 fully qualified VOSA testers, everyone gets along and their customers like that, and after delivering a good service, they keep coming back.
Clive started working on cars in the Army as a hobby, and very soon realised he had a gift for it. He left the army 38 years ago, and started working at different garages. 30 years ago, he founded Tunbridge Wells MOT Centre LTD, where he still works today.
David was born and bred to be a mechanic, and started helping out at the garage from the age of 6. When he left school at 16 he started working at the garage straight from school on his apprenticeship. He has been working at the garage ever since, for over 24 years. His daughter also wants to come and join the family business.
